Soy prices fell last week to their lowest level since 2008 amid the US-China trade dispute, according to Agrifirm's weekly update. Grain prices have also dropped further after rising sharply following the dry 2018 summer, and a USDA report projected a significantly larger harvest.
Weak Chinese demand and a larger US crop keep pressure on feed raw material prices, so compound feed prices are expected to fall, though with a lag. Weather delays in the US Midwest are a possible upside risk.
