Agritel said France will need to export 20.1 million tonnes of soft wheat in 2019/20 after harvesting 39.2 million tonnes, up 14.9%. About 11.3 million tonnes must go outside the EU, and the consultancy said good quality and a weak euro should help French wheat compete.
Heavy export demand from France supports wheat trade flows, but Agritel expects competitive pricing to cap price gains. The large harvest keeps overall supply ample.
