Statistics Canada estimated Canadian oat production at 3.952 million tonnes for 2019, up from 3.436 million in 2018. Low carryover stocks were cited as the reason the larger crop is not expected to shift prices.
Despite the larger crop, record-low ending stocks mean buyers should not expect oat prices to fall, so feed oat costs are likely to stay stable.
