EIA data showed a proxy for distillate demand, mostly diesel, rose 11.8% in the week ended April 17 to 3.12 million b/d from 2.757 million the prior week. SONAR wholesale rack data showed diesel volumes up about 13% from April 16 to April 23.
Rebounding diesel demand suggests trucking and farm fuel use is recovering from the pandemic lows, which supports diesel and related energy prices.
