Fed Chair Jerome Powell said the committee's view on negative rates has not changed and it is not under consideration. Futures had begun pricing a small chance of sub-zero US rates within the next year, and several major central banks have already used negative rate policies.
Removing the prospect of negative US rates supports the dollar's yield advantage, which can pressure dollar-priced grain and oilseed prices and affect the currency costs faced by importers.
