FEFAC said 38% of European soybean consumption and 49% of industrial compound feed soybean meal in 2018 met its Soy Sourcing Guidelines. It estimated that 19% of total European soy was certified deforestation-free and 79% came from low-deforestation origins, including the US, Canada and Ukraine.
Growing shares of responsibly sourced soybean meal may steer EU feed buyers toward low-risk origins, shifting import demand among suppliers without a clear overall price effect.
