The US Grains Council is promoting ethanol for industrial uses such as hand sanitizer, windshield washer fluid and cook-stove fuel. CEO Ryan LeGrand said sanitizer demand from Mexico and Korea has helped offset weaker fuel demand.
Industrial ethanol demand partly offsets falling fuel demand, cushioning ethanol plant utilization and corn grind, though the volumes remain small.
