Vietnam has reported 66 avian influenza outbreaks this year, 52 of them H5N6 and 14 H5N1, across 23 provinces and cities. About 200,000 birds have been culled, and duck farms account for 56% of the outbreaks.
Losses in Vietnam's duck and chicken sectors reduce local poultry output and can trim regional feed demand. The scale is modest relative to global feed grain and meal trade.
