The US opened an investigation into phosphate imports from Russia and Morocco after Mosaic alleged unfair subsidies, and duties could be retroactive to June 26. Gulf DAP rose $40 to $314 per ton, and US retailers raised prices above $435.
Morocco and Russia supply about 85% of US DAP and MAP imports.
Possible countervailing duties would cut import supply into the US and keep DAP prices elevated ahead of the fall application season. Higher phosphate costs feed through to the cost of mineral and feed supplements.

Reports Gulf DAP up $40 to $314/t and US retail prices above $435 as the phosphate import investigation (possibly retroactive duties) tightens expected US supply from Morocco and Russia, directly matching the DAP price jump.
The US anti-subsidy probe into Russian and Moroccan phosphate imports threatens retroactive duties on about 85% of US DAP/MAP imports, tightening expected supply and pushing Gulf DAP and US retail prices sharply higher, which directly explains the DAP jump.
