France launched a multisectoral platform to monitor and fight imported deforestation, covering palm oil, soy, cocoa, natural rubber, beef and wood. The platform includes an interactive map of deforestation import flows and an alert mechanism using customs and satellite data.
It is part of the National Strategy to Combat Imported Deforestation.
Monitoring and alerts on imports of soy and palm oil could raise scrutiny of certain supply origins, a marginal factor for feed-ingredient sourcing costs.
