US Gulf urea values recovered as nitrogen producers cut production during freezing Midwest weather and sold natural gas at a premium. Nola barge urea rose from the mid-$320s to the mid-$350s per short ton fob Nola by Tuesday, and Turkish buyers inquired for up to 30,000t of granular urea.
Gas diversions and plant cutbacks tighten nitrogen supply, pushing up urea and UAN costs for feed and grain buyers. Prices may stay elevated if affected plants restart slowly.
