Indian rice exports picked up after an additional port at Kakinada began operations to reduce a waiting period of up to four weeks. Indian 5% broken parboiled prices eased, and Thai and Vietnamese prices were also reported.
Reduced port congestion should speed Indian shipments and lower demurrage costs, adding supply to export markets. That tends to weigh on global rice prices.
