The US Department of Commerce published its final affirmative countervailing duty determination on phosphate fertilizers from Morocco, finding that producers and exporters receive countervailable subsidies. The notice follows the November 2020 preliminary determination and later post-preliminary steps.
Countervailing duties on Moroccan phosphate imports would reduce supply into the US market and support domestic DAP and TSP prices, raising costs for US feed and grain buyers who rely on phosphate inputs.
