A USDA FAS report projects India's 2020-21 grain output at a record 305.4 million tonnes. For 2021-22, it expects wheat output of 98-105 million tonnes, below the prior record, and rice exports cut to 15.5 million tonnes from 19 million.
Lower projected Indian rice exports and wheat output tighten the export supply outlook, which is supportive for global rice and wheat prices.
