The August USDA report cut global 2021/22 barley production by 4 million tons to 149.43 million tons, with reductions for Canada, Kazakhstan, Turkey, the EU and Russia. Ukrainian barley purchase prices have risen following the report and the rally in Black Sea wheat.
A smaller global barley crop and firmer Black Sea wheat prices lift barley values for feed buyers, with tighter exporter supplies adding to the upward pressure.
