South American soybean oil export basis differentials surged in August, with Argentina's Up River basis rising 530 points and Brazil's Paranagua basis rising 460 points. The increase reflected Asian demand, concerns over local supply, and biodiesel demand in Argentina and Brazil.
India also cut its crude soybean oil import duty to 30.25% on August 20.
