US DAP spot prices (Gulf) averaged about $643 per ton in September 2021, up 6.7% month on month and roughly 180% year on year. Moroccan rock phosphate rose 7.76% to $147.5 per ton, while Black Sea urea dipped 6.29% to $418.75 per ton.
Henry Hub natural gas averaged $5.94 per MMBtu, up 37% from August.
Monthly price benchmarks confirm sharply higher phosphate and nitrogen input costs, with natural gas strength feeding through to nitrogen production costs and reinforcing the cost pressure on feed grain producers.
