COCERAL's June forecast puts the EU plus UK wheat crop, excluding durum, at 134.5 million tonnes, marginally above its March estimate. That is below the 139.9 million tonnes harvested in the prior year.
Barley was cut to 59.9 million tonnes from 61.2 million.
A smaller wheat crop than the prior year tightens EU supply and supports wheat prices. The barley cut adds mild support to barley values for feed use.
