Commercial Carrier Journal reports the US national average on-highway diesel price topped $4 a gallon in February for the first time in almost eight years. Goldman Sachs moved its $125/bbl crude forecast forward to summer 2022 after Russia's invasion of Ukraine, and analysts expect wide refining margins.
Higher crude and wide diesel refining margins keep fuel and freight costs high for feed buyers, with the Ukraine conflict adding to the supply risk premium.
