Rabobank says the Russia-Ukraine conflict could halt Black Sea wheat exports, which account for 34% of global wheat trade, at least in the short term. It estimates global wheat prices could rise a further 5-10% in the very short term, and far more if conflict and sanctions persist into July.
A halt in Black Sea wheat exports would sharply tighten global supply, supporting wheat and feed grain prices and increasing demand for Australian wheat.
