A coalition of US food and agriculture groups sent a letter to US Trade Representative Katherine Tai asking for removal of Section 301 and 232 tariffs and retaliatory tariffs. They argue the tariffs raise costs for machinery, fertilizer and chemicals amid record inflation.
If tariffs on inputs and retaliatory duties were removed, export market access could improve for US farm goods, but the request is only a lobbying appeal with no decision yet.
