Ukrainian grain exports now face sharply higher logistics costs after Russia blocked the Black Sea deep-water ports. Trucking from central Ukraine to Reni or Izmail is about $65 per tonne, roughly double the pre-war rate, and exporters are shifting to shallow-water ports, rail, and EU border routes.
Higher logistics costs cut Ukrainian export competitiveness and push up the landed price of Black Sea grain, supporting world wheat and corn prices and sustaining demand for alternative feed supplies.
