The House passed a $405 billion package of six fiscal 2023 appropriations bills, including agriculture. The agriculture bill totals $195 billion in mandatory and discretionary spending and bars companies from China, Russia and Iran from buying U.S. farmland.
Appropriations funding for USDA programs and the rejection of fertilizer duties affect farm costs and programs, but the bill itself has little direct effect on commodity prices.
