Rabobank reported that China's pork industry has entered a new upward cycle, with the sow herd down 6.3% year on year by the second quarter of 2022. The analysts expect this cycle to show less price volatility than previous ones.
A sustained pork upcycle with a smaller sow herd supports hog prices and future demand for feed grains and meal, though the gradual expansion limits the size of the feed demand jump.
