Mexico's federal government is looking for non-GM corn suppliers ahead of the 2024 import ban on GM corn. Officials are unsure whether the ban covers livestock feed corn and say Mexico will try to cut US yellow corn imports by 50%, about 8.5 million tonnes.
Replacing around 8.5 million tonnes of US corn with Brazilian or Argentine non-GM supply would shift export flows and could weigh on US corn prices while supporting South American corn.
