EIA says Henry Hub spot prices have fallen since August but retail heating costs will stay high because winter will be colder than usual. Its November outlook projects winter spot prices near $6/MMBtu, about $1 below October's forecast.
Lower projected spot gas prices ease industrial energy costs, though the cold-winter outlook supports demand and keeps prices elevated relative to history.
