At Commodity Classic, leaders of corn, soybean, wheat and sorghum groups said protecting crop insurance is their top farm bill priority. They also want to fix Title I safety-net payments, which were never triggered during the trade war with China, and seek more export promotion funding.
Stronger safety-net and crop insurance support could sustain planted acreage and feed grain output, but the proposals remain early and have no immediate price effect.
