USDA's FAS attaché report on Canada's oilseeds outlook notes dryness in scattered areas of Alberta and Saskatchewan, with canola production rebounding in MY 2022/23 and exports to China recovering after access was reinstated for two major canola handlers. Canada will also end domestic feed-channel uses of the insecticide lambda-cyhalothrin from April 2023.
Improved canola output and reopened China access add supply and export flow to the canola complex, while the pesticide restriction on feed-destined grain could tighten feed-grade supply and alter planting choices.
