Minnesota's Foundation Seed Services reported overall seed sales up 15% from 2022, with wheat sales down about 20% and oat sales slightly below 2022. Early intentions show fewer wheat, barley and oat acres in Minnesota this year as strong corn and soybean prices draw acreage.
Expected declines in small grain acreage, driven by stronger corn and soybean prices, point to tighter barley and oat supplies later in the year.
