Russia's Ministry of Economic Development proposes extending export duties on sunflower oil and meal to August 31, 2024. The base price for calculating the meal duty would rise from 13,875 to 15,875 rubles per tonne.
The sunflower seed export duty of 50% would also be extended a year.
Export duties reduce Russian sunflower meal and oil availability on world markets, supporting prices for buyers who rely on Black Sea supplies. A higher meal duty base price slightly raises the cost of Russian export meal.
