The US plans to request a USMCA dispute panel over Mexico's GM corn ban after the 75-day consultation period ended August 16. The US had also denied a Mexican request for joint scientific research on GM corn health impacts.
The move toward a formal panel increases the risk that Mexican demand for US corn is curtailed, a bearish factor for corn export prices.
