The dollar edged higher as U.S. economic growth accelerated. The yen weakened to a one-year low of 150.78 per dollar, close to the 32-year low touched in October last year, and markets were focused on a possible change to the Bank of Japan's yield control policy.
Stronger U.S. growth and rate expectations support the dollar, which tends to pressure dollar-denominated grain and meal prices and raises the cost of imports priced in other currencies.
