Emerging Asian currencies and equities weakened as US Treasury yields rose and the dollar strengthened ahead of key US inflation data. The won fell more than 1% to 1,379.4 per dollar, and the rupiah and peso also slipped.
The Thai baht is down 7.5% year to date.
