Canada's labour minister said striking grain terminal workers in Metro Vancouver and their employers reached a tentative labour deal. The Grain Workers Union Local 333 said members would ratify by Oct.
4 and return to work pending the vote, ending a strike that had paralyzed grain shipments from the port.
Vancouver handles roughly half of Canada's exported grain, so the stoppage was delaying canola and wheat shipments during harvest. Ending it eases logistics bottlenecks and should ease upward pressure on canola and wheat export basis.
