The Mexican peso rose as much as 1.9% after earlier falling 2.9% to 21.2882 per dollar, its weakest level in nearly three years, as US tariffs on Mexican products were delayed. It closed the session up 1.7% at 20.33.
Peso strength makes Mexican feed and grain imports cheaper in dollar terms, supporting Mexican buying demand for US corn, soybean meal and DDGS. Tariff uncertainty drives volatility in that currency.
