ABARES's first outlook puts Australia's 2025-26 wheat crop at 30.5 million tonnes, about 10% below the previous season but 15% above the 10-year average. Above-normal soil moisture in key states could encourage farmers to plant more than usual.
Planting is set to begin around April.
