The Chinese yuan rallied to a 10-month high against the dollar, with the onshore rate at 7.126 per dollar. The move was supported by firm PBOC midpoint fixings and a buoyant domestic stock market, and the yuan was on track for its biggest monthly gain since May.
A firmer yuan lifts China's purchasing power for imports and can ease the cost of buying dollar-priced commodities, though the effect on feed grain prices is modest and mainly sentiment-driven.
