JIRCAS republished FAO Food Outlook analysis of global fertilizer markets. Global fertilizer use is estimated to rise about 6% to 200 million tonnes in 2024, with nitrogen use at a record 115 million tonnes.
Nitrogen demand strength from India and China supports fertilizer prices, while weak phosphorus demand reflects affordability strain that can cap farm input purchases and grain output growth.
