Oil prices settled slightly higher on December 3 after US and Russian talks failed to produce a deal to end the Ukraine war. The deal could have eased sanctions on Russian oil, and gains were held back by oversupply fears from rising US crude, gasoline and distillate stocks.
Failed talks keep Russian oil under sanctions and limit additional supply. Rising US inventories show a surplus that caps the upside.
