The FAO Food Price Index rose to 125.3 points in February 2026, up 0.9% from January, the first increase after five monthly declines. Cereal, meat and vegetable oil indexes rose, while dairy and sugar fell; the vegetable oil index hit its highest since June 2022.
Higher wheat, barley and vegetable oil prices raise feed input costs for buyers, though the index remains about 1% lower year-on-year.
