The FAO reported world food prices rose for a seventh straight month in December, with the Food Price Index at 107.5 points, 2.2% above November. Vegetable oils gained 4.7% to their highest since 2012, and the cereal index rose 1.1% on crop concerns in North and South America and Russia.
Rising global food and vegetable oil benchmarks signal firmer underlying demand and costs for feed ingredients, supporting prices for oilseed products and grains.
