Live and feeder cattle futures fell after USDA reported a New World Screwworm case 52 miles from the Texas border, the closest US detection so far. Grain and hog futures also declined, and funds added to liquidation.
Screwworm proximity raises risk of movement restrictions and demand concerns, pressuring cattle futures, particularly feeders, in the near term.
