Barchart reports live and feeder cattle futures hit expanded daily limits on October 27 as speculative longs liquidated. Cash fed cattle traded at $238-240 the prior week, and the CME Feeder Cattle Index fell to $367.08.
Mexico's agriculture ministry was reportedly heading to Washington to discuss reopening the border to cattle imports.
Expectations of Mexican feeder cattle imports resuming would add supply to the US feeder market, pressuring feeder prices and reducing near-term feeder cattle demand for grain.
