USDA forecasts 2026 US pork production at 27.9 billion pounds, about 1.1% above 2025, with heavier dressed weights offsetting smaller hog numbers. July dressed weights averaged about 214 pounds, nearly four pounds above a year earlier.
Pork exports are forecast at 7.2 billion pounds, though shipments to Mexico are weak.
Growing pork output from heavier hogs adds supply into soft domestic and export demand, pressuring hog and wholesale pork prices. Weak Mexican demand limits the export offset.
