The Australian dollar fell to a two-month low as the US dollar gained on bond-yield moves, while the RBA hike lifted sterling and Aussie pressure. The US dollar index rose to 101.37, its highest since July 28, as Middle East crude flows improved and US-Iran diplomacy stalled.
A firmer dollar index generally pressures US-priced commodities and dollar-denominated export demand, while oil and bond moves feed into energy and freight costs for feed.
