The USDA weekly Grain Transportation Report notes that Columbia-Snake River locks will close March 8 to 29, 2025 for maintenance. Through November, 2.9 million tons of wheat had moved through McNary Lock, 80 percent of the system's total.
Mar-Jac Poultry also plans a $25 million transload facility in Mississippi.
The planned Snake River closure may delay Pacific Northwest wheat shipments in spring 2025, supporting PNW wheat basis and export timing.
