For the week ending December 5, unshipped corn, soybean and wheat balances for 2024/25 totaled 41.28 million tonnes, and railcar grain loadings rose 31 percent week over week. Canadian Pacific Kansas City completed a new rail bridge at Laredo, Texas, the top U.S. grain crossing to Mexico, where it adds capacity to the single existing bridge.
Expanded rail capacity into Mexico should ease corn movement bottlenecks and support U.S. corn export flows, while lower railcar bids reflect softer rail demand.
