USDA's APHIS is awarding $15.8 million to 60 animal disease preparedness projects led by 38 states, land-grant universities and industry groups. The funding comes through the 2018 Farm Bill's National Animal Disease Preparedness and Response Program.
The funding strengthens outbreak response capacity but does not change near-term supply or demand for feed ingredients. Its price impact is negligible.
