A study in PLOS Pathogens found that the H1N1 pdm09 'swine flu' lineage has passed from humans to pigs about 370 times in the United States since 2009. Researchers say continued circulation in pigs could drive changes that raise the risk of transmission back to humans.
The finding is a zoonotic research result with no immediate effect on hog supply or prices.
