Indonesia will raise its crude palm oil export levy from 7.5% to 10% of the reference price starting May 17, 2025. The increase, also applied to other palm oil products, funds the B40 biodiesel program and replanting efforts.
A higher levy makes Indonesian palm oil pricier than rivals, which can shift export demand toward Malaysia, while subsidized biodiesel demand supports domestic vegetable oil use and prices.
